Air Canada responded to my email!

Well, they responded to my concerns. What do you think of their response? Please let me know...

Dear Nikka:

Thank you for your e-mail.

We regret to learn of your disappointment with Air Canada’s recent
change to its policy regarding the carriage of pets in the cabin. While we
appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns, we sincerely
apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Like most companies, Air Canada reviews its policies, procedures and
services to ensure that its product offering responds to customer demand
while keeping pace with industry standards and current economic
realities. As part of this revision, we will no longer accept pets in the
cabin on any flights. Animals carried in the cabin cause more disruption
to other customers. Their containment in a small bag or kennel is
difficult for them and there is an increased tendency for dogs to bark and
cats to meow, for example. Additionally, more customers are complaining
of severe allergies to pets and incidents caused by customers who let
their pet out of their bag/kennel are on the rise. The result is
disturbance to others on board including our in-flight staff.

Customer feedback is extremely valuable to us and we appreciate you
taking the time to share your impressions. Please be assured your
comments have been documented and will form the basis of reports generated to our executive team as well as our operational groups.

While we recognize your disappointment, we hope you will provide us with an opportunity to welcome you on board.

Sincerely,

Jan Sagmoe

Hi! Its your friend the

Hi! Its your friend the other Nikka here.. My mom also wrote an email to Air Canada informing them of her complete disappointment with their new discriminating policy. They did not respond to her, but maybe thats because she vowed that we will be boycotting their airline until they change that silly policy. She has also informed United Airlines that she will not be flying with them as long as they offer Air Canada-operated flights out of and into Toronto. Its cool though, we found a great accomodating new airline in U.S. Air.

I have never barked or even whined on a flight and when we flew with another chi on our flight he was perfectly behaved as well. I think those complainers are a bunch of attention-loving whiners. On our last flight a lady noticed my carrier and started complaining to the stewardess and acting like her allergies where already acting up until she saw I was a dog and not a cat.

Just tell all your friends to write to Air Canada about their ridiculous policy and our intent to boycott and maybe we will win in the long run. I hope they lose tons of money!!

Thanks for your input Nikka!

Thanks for your input Nikka! We were very assertive in our letter and we have not flown Air Canada since. West Jet is so friendly and their customer service is fantastic. We will alway fly with them for now on.
Thanks again!

Don't be fooled by that p.r.

Don't be fooled by that p.r. nice talk. Air Canada pays a lot of money to have people write like that. Nikka, since there are other carriers like Westjet, you can still come to Thunder Bay at Christmas, and we'll have a good time. I'll even make some Egg Nog for your parents and slip you a sip so you can stop being annoying for a day or two. By the time you get back on Westjet, you'll sleep all the way home and not bother anybody except when you barf. But we'll just keep it our little secret.
